how do you messure yourself to know what size of saddle you need?

i am 4’8 and weigh almost 100 pounds. what size saddle do i need?

Weight doesn’t really have anything to do with it, its all about your leg length. You can measure like this:
1. Sit in a chair so that your leg is in the position of a right angle.
2. Measure your upper leg (from the back of your bum to the tip of your knee)
3. Use the size chart.

Upper Leg Length ______Seat Size

Up to 16 1/2″ _______15″ seat
Up to 18 1/2″ _______16″ seat
Up to 20″ _______16 1/2″ seat
Up to 21 1/2″ _______17″ seat
Up to 23″ _______17 1/2″ seat
Up to 23″ _______18″ seat

This is for english. If you are riding western, the saddle size tends to be one size smaller. So, if you are a 16.5 in English, you will be a 15.5 in Western. However, I suggest that you try out the saddle before you buy. Go to the store and sit on it. Inspect it (especially if it is used), does it look like its in good condition? Then, ask the tack store if you can take it for a ride, then decide. Most of them will let you try it out before you buy. Good luck
