Michael Milken and the Giving Pledge?
In case you missed it today, Michael Milken, the “junk-bond king”, who defrauded honest investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars via insider trading, racketeering and securities fraud pledged to give away the majority of his fortune, after he eventually dies, to the charity founded by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.
Yes, Michael Milken. Yes, that Michael Milken. The one you’re thinking of. The same guy.
Is this the most ridiculous thing ever? I think it is.
Unscrupulous people tend to try to “redeem” themselves when they start thinking of the possibility of their demise, just as they suddenly find God after years of being horrible human beings.
Milken must think that money will make it better for his chances in the after life.
How shallow he is….
