Some baby names are ridiculous, especially celebrity baby names. You wonder where they come up with it! I mean did you ever hear of the names Apple, Rocco, Easel, Brooklyn, Coco, Romeo, River, Dweezil, Satchel, or Moon Unit? Give me a break! 1. Who knows if it was because of Kelly Ripa’s failed TV sitcom, the names Hope and Faith became increasingly popular for twins. In fact it was number 13 in 2007. Just so you know Tia and Tamara or Zach and Cody were not on the list.

2. Jesus was a popular name in the early 1900’s being about number 200 or 300. Nowadays, it is about the number 77th- most popular name. In 2001 and 2001, it peaked at being in the number 66th spot. Go Christ!

3. The name Unique was pretty popular from 1993 too 2005. What do you know, we tend to see a lot of Uniques on American Idol and needless to say, there is usually any other word that could describe them besdies Unique.

4. in the 1880’s, the third most popular name for a girl baby was Emma. What do you know, in 2007, Emma was the third most popular name for a girl too. I guess those Idas, Berthas, and Gertrudes didn’t have all that much luck in the popularity department.

5. It’s clear that the NBC hit sitcom Friends contributed to the rise of the name Chandler. It went from being 900th, to 600th in the 1980’s all the way up to being the 157th most popular baby name in 1996.

6. As Kobe rose to fame in 1997 – 2003, so did his name. In 2004 Kobe was the 417th most popular baby name. Shaquille also rose to fame around 1993. In 1996, tons of girl babies were named Shaquille, a name they will never forgive their parents for.

7. The name Barrack has never been on the top 1,000 baby names. But as president, I guarantee he will be the only president whose name hasn’t been on the top 1,000.

Surprisingly, the names that have never made the top 1,000 include: Oprah, Tupac, Conan, Ringo, Mao, Vanilla, Lebron, and Pacman
