How do I pack a big clock?

That sounds funny, huh? HA! No seriously, I’m moving & am packing strange things. I have this one clock the size of an extra large pizza. The hands are exposed (no glass over the face) so I don’t know how to pack it. Move it. & I might need to store it for a while too. Any suggestions. (Please don’t give me a link to a packing/moving website, I’m looking for tips.)

If it’s a valuable clock, I strongly recommend you have a professional pack it for you. I had an expensive antique clock shipped from Europe 15 years ago, and the thing is permanently broken because of improper handling and packing.
If you want to try and DIY, I would buy an empty pizza box from the local pizzeria, pack it in that, and transport it in the front seat of your car.

Shipping supply stores also carry large boxes that may also work.
